  1. I have found a lot of mine in poundshops and the toy appartments. 1:43 or 1:45 works well in 28mm gaming

  2. Cars are a continuing problem.
I haven't actually paid more than £1 per vehicle from places like Poundland and the like.
I do have other, more expensive vehicles bought from Supermarkets (eg Tesco's) and the like too. These range from 1/43 rd scale to 1/60th scale.
I personally avoid 1/64th (Matchbox sized) as being far too small.
Realtoys, Road Champs, Welly, Roadsters and many, many others can be found in specialist toy stores and ebay.
Table-top sales and flea markets are a great source of toy cars too, but take along a figure for scale.

  3. I try to get mine off friends children, not stealing them but inspecting any throw away stuff. Charity shops are another treasure trove to be scoured. Poundstores do quite good stuff now and again. 1/43 rd scale is best but you can get away with 1/50 th scale in larger vehicles, lorries etc. Hope this helps.

  4. Here in the US I find cheap cars for $2 at Dollar General. If you check my blog you can see shots there....they work pretty good. I got lucky with my Strange Aeons vehicles with Matchbox Yesteryear line when I was hunting for vehicles there....I found a few lots that helped...

  5. The smallest cars I know of are some "Initial D" 1/72 scale model cars. But perhaps they are too small for your purpose? The only link I could find from a general Google Image search is this one =>http://www.xyberautos.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=65&products_id=505&osCsid=664

  6. Sounds like you've got plenty of searches to get on with. I tend to use ebay, but when it comes to painting have a look at this guy, some great ideas for detailing.

  7. Car boot sales seem a good place carry a spare fig. If it looks right use it. 1/43 is ok imo.
